Goal Setting Without the Burnout: A Solution-Focused Approach

When I was in undergrad, a professor told me that I had a terrible case of “Save the World Syndrome.” In response, I swallowed hard, smiled brightly, and owned it.  I was proud to be afflicted by such an illness and hoped that inoculation would be a long time coming. To say that I overextended myself in the early days of my career would be an understatement.  I took off like a rocket ship - assuming those boosters would be there forever and I could plow through my job at full speed. 

As time progressed, my headaches started, and it was very difficult to wind down in the evenings. I was starting to lose my steam, and I was scared.

The leap from university life to a professional career is a massive milestone that often feels more like an emotional overload than a simple step forward.
